KQ - Motor does not start - Troubleshooting

Possible Causes
A. Thermal Protection activated F. Incorrect Wiring J.Wrong interpretation of signals
B. Power supply off G. Thermal Protector fail K. No start condition
C. Power supply incorrect H. Overload Protector fail L. In/outlet pressure too high
D. Dry-Run Protection activated I. Overload Protector activated M. Pressure switch signal is abnormal
E. Shaft jammed    

 

Diagnosis Procedure
 

STEP 0

Before going through this procedure, please make sure that the piping system is correctly installed and working properly without clogging.
Also, please make sure the faucet is opened correctly.
 

STEP 1

Check if the pump casing is overheated.
(40℃ is the cutoff point for the standard model, 90℃ is for the high-temperature model.)
If the temperature is too high, cut off the power and check for insufficient water supply or abnormal water temperature.
Restart after water supply comes back to normal.
 

STEP 2

Open wiring box cover [] and check the power input [].
If there is no voltage, the power might be turned off.
If your model has a voltage selector, put it in the right slot according to the input voltage.
If the voltage does not meet the rated voltage, please find a local specialist to check your power system.

Note: Input voltage should be within 10% of the rated voltage.
Make sure the motor shaft is not jammed before restarting the pump.
 

STEP 3

If your model is installed with N-Type Controller, reset the power.
The motor should run for 3 motors after a 3 seconds function check.

If the motor runs, the controller might be in Dry-Run Protection mode.

Note: N-Type Controller has a green capacitor.
 

STEP 4

Make sure the breaker is turned off.
Check the shaft rotation manually with a screwdriver.
If the shaft does not turn freely, do "KQ - motor shaft - maintenance" procedure.
 

STEP 5

Check the current wiring.
If the wiring does not conform the diagram, adjust the wires.
 

STEP 6

Make sure pump is cool and then check the thermal protector.
If the red line and the blue line are not conducted, do "KQ - thermal protector - replacement" procedure.
